iPhone 5 iOS 6 Possible Features

It hasn’t even been a year since iOS 5 was introduced to the public, and yet Apple iPhone owners (ourselves included) are already day dreaming about iOS 6. The truth is, even though iOS 5 brought a lot of new features to the iPhone and other iOS devices, there’s still a lot of things that could be introduced in iOS 6 for the iPhone 5. We’ll be looking at just a few of these features here–and we invite you to share any features you’re hoping to see, as well.

The first iOS 6 feature we expect to see is better Facebook and Twitter sharing capabilities. iOS 5 gave us the ability to share photos from within the iOS gallery to Twitter and as well as a few other features, but many iOS owners were hoping for the ability to share these same photos with Facebook. We were also hoping that Siri could assist us by sending Tweets and Status Updates. These are things that could be easily implemented in iOS 6–and they would be well-received by iPhone 5 users, too. So we expect iOS 6 to have better Facebook and Twitter functionality.

Another iOS 6 feature we expect to see is the addition (finally!) of turn-by-turn navigation. Pick up any Android phone and you’ll see that the feature comes standard. It’s something us iPhone owners have wanted for a long time, and it’s something that Apple is likely to bring to iOS 6 on the iPhone 5. The only question is who Apple will partner with to bring out turn-by-turn navigation that is both accurate and easy to use. Our bets are on Google or MapQuest at this point.

The third iOS 6 feature we expect to see is the ability to truly stream music through iTunes. iOS 5 introduced us to iTunes Match, a service that allows users to easily backup their songs through iCloud. Only problem is, this is not a true backup and then stream from the cloud to the iPhone situation, like Google Music is for Android phones. We think Apple will remedy this with their own iOS 6 iPhone 5 music streaming service. A good name for it: iCloud Music.

One other iOS 6 feature we’d like to see is the addition of an even better built-in camera editing app. The one that iOS 5 came with is fairly good, but it’s not as good as the built-in one on many Android phones. Apple could partner with a really good photo editing software company to build a really kick butt photo editor for the iOS 6 iPhone 5.

What iOS 6 iPhone 5 features would you like to see? Share your suggestions with us below and we’ll feature them in an upcoming article.

They should add the face identification lock to ios 6. This would work for iPhone 4,4s, and 5 users. Think of how great it would be to unlock your iPhone without typing in a password. I would only agree with it though if it was at least as fast as typing in a password or even faster. It would also be a good thing for Apple to make it where you couldn't hold a picture up to it and work. That would be almost pointless. I've heard a rumor on this website about iPhone 5 having it, but it would be really easy to add it to ios 6.

They should also add Siri to ios 6. This would be a great thing to have in iOS 6.

      Hi Adam,

Thanks for commenting! I agree that a face identification unlock feature would be great if properly implemented. As we reported earlier this week, it's definitely a possible feature for iOS 6 and the iPhone 5.

      Hi Anonymous,

The addition of more widgets (than the ones currently available in the notifications section of iOS 5) would definitely be great. iPhone owners have been asking for it for months now, so it's definitely something that could come with the iPhone 5.

I really want a keyboard with arrow keys. The Sprint HTC Evo 4G that I will be trading in for an iPhone 5 has an exceptional keyboard. Arrow keys, hold for punctuation ability and a microphone key that let you speak and it types no matter what app you're in.. I need the stability of Apple, but I will miss this keyboard. Please don't tell me to stay with android, I'm tired of my phone's reboot loop and I really want to switch to an iPhone. I already have an iPad2 and it's wonderful.

      Hi Jjj,

We've heard in the past that Apple may come out with an iPhone with a physical keyboard, and it's possible that may happen with the iPhone 5. Even if it doesn't, the current iPhone's keyboard is really good. It's way more accurate than my Android phone's keyboard, and very easy to type on. I'd say go ahead and switch to the iPhone 5, as it will be a very reliable device and the keyboard on it should be pretty good, too.

There is going to be never a real keyboard iPhone, though a iPhone with a fully customizable keyboard would be great(the iPhone have it when activating, in setting or certain apps to be customized.

The Iphone 5 and IOS6 should be able to send emoji's so others then iphone user can see them. it is nice to have them but if the other person can not see them what good is it… .???? Cons on the new iphone 5 What about all the apple products that use the standard connector i hope they introduce an adapter as now Apple has so many accessories that what a let down to people who have many devices using the standard connector.
